Third Sunday in Lent Year - C
Lent is our JOURNEY to EASTER,
as the BAPTISED PEOPLE of GOD.
We have spoken of the SIGN OF THE CROSS and the OIL FOR BAPTISM as elements which lead us to the BAPTISMAL PROMISES. Adults (or godparents for children) are asked to renounce Satan and evil, and profess their belief in God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. At the Easter Vigil (this year at 8.30pm) everyone will be asked to renew the promises of their own baptism once we have heard the new Catholics make the promises for themselves. In these Lenten days Let us think deeply about what these promises mean for us as Catholic Christians. Then we will celebrate Easter well
PRAYER FOR THE WEEK (ICEL 1997)
God of salvation, we stand before you on holy ground,
for you name is glorified and your mercy revealed
wherever your might deeds are remembered.
Since you are holy and forbearing,
turn us from every rash and shallow judgement
to see the ways of repentance.

Parish Prayer
Leader - Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful
All - And kindle in them the fire of your love
Leader - Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created
All - And you will renew the face of the earth
Leader - Let us pray (we pause)
ALL - Lord, by the light of the Holy Spirit, you have taught the hearts of your faithful. In the same Spirit help us to love what is right and always rejoice in your consolation. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
